The selection committee reviews all complete applications on a rolling basis and decisions are based on the student’s scholastic achievement, character, and evidence of aptitude for achievement. Notification of the admission decision is sent to the applicant shortly after all credentials are received. Undergraduate Application
    Freshman  
   

Complete this application if you have or will soon receive a high school diploma or General Education Development diploma and have not been enrolled for 12 or more semester hours of coursework at an accredited college or university since completing high school. Your application materials must include an official high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores.*

    Transfer  
   

Complete this application if you have completed 12 or more semester hours at another institution after you graduated from high school. Your application materials must include Official Final Transcript(s) as well as Confidential Transfer Request Form sent directly to VUU from ALL colleges and universities you have attended. 

    Non-Matriculation  
   

Complete this application for those who is seeking to take courses at VUU without obtaining a degree.  The student will not be eligible for financial aid or scholarships.  A non-matriculated applicant could be for various reasons including:

  • To transfer credit back to the college where you are seeking a degree;
  • To take college classes for pleasure or personal enrichment;
  • To upgrade job skills; or
  • To try out college before deciding if you want to get a degree.
    Weekend College  
   

Teacher Licensure Program) Complete this application for those who are seeking endorsements in licensure areas as approved by the Virginia Department of Education. The endorsement areas are:

  • Elementary Education- grades Pre-K – 6;
  • Secondary Education- grades 6 – 12; or
  • Special Education - grades Pre-K – 12.
    Police Academy  
   

The Richmond Police Academy and Virginia Union University have a Memorandum of Understanding.  Graduates of the Richmond Police Department Basic Police Officer Recruit Academy are eligible to be awarded 21 semester credit hours at VUU.  The 21 semester credit hours will only be awarded after the officer does the following:

  • Completed Application 
  • Official final high school transcript or GED scores
  • Complete Application for Work/Life Experience
  • Complete Request for Tuition Remission

    Readmissions  
   

Once a Panther, always a Panther!   Complete this application if you have attended Virginia University as degree seeking students but who are not currently enrolled and would like to return to VUU.

 

 

 

Beginning with spring 2017 applicants, Undergraduate Admissions will consider both revised SAT and original SAT scores. We will not super score between the revised SAT and original SAT.
